There is an intrinsic link between good mental health and the right nutrition. Happy People Solutions have written a programme that aims to improve wellbeing, productivity and morale in the workplace.
The course aim is to inform the participants which foods are required to allow the body and brain to function at their maximum capacity, looking at the links between depression, anxiety and an unhealthy diet.
It will educate and encourage staff to eat the right foods, enabling them to have more energy, increased mental agility, to be more productive in the workplace and to be happier in general. This dynamic approach challenges the idea that if we provide our staff with chocolate, cake and fizzy drinks, it will allow them to work harder and meet difficult deadlines, when in fact this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Benefits for staff and employers include;
- Promoting better physical health and mental wellbeing
- Increased motivation and job satisfaction
- Increased productivity
- Encouraging self-awareness and resilience
- Better staff retention
- Less sickness absence
- Reduced presenteeism
- Reduced cost of absenteeism, presenteeism and temporary staff to the company
- Removing stigma and raising mental health awareness at work
This innovative training concept combines both mental health and nutritional wellbeing and is facilitated by Katrina Love (a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and International Life Coach) and Natasha Hodge (Nutritional Advisor) and fulfils the criterium for an employer’s duty of care towards their employee’s mental health.
Mental health is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, with 1 in 3 employees being formally diagnosed with a mental health illness. The quicker mental health issues are spotted and dealt with, the less impact it will have on your staff member and your company.
Our ability to cope with stress relies on whether our bodies are fuelled well. Nutritional advice is conflicted, but our training makes it simple to understand what foods are the most beneficial with fast results.
This wellbeing training day opens up communication within an organisation and lifts the stigma of mental health issues in the workplace, promoting physical and mental wellbeing in your workforce.
